The European Association for Education and Research in Commercial Distribution (EAERCD)
To facilitate contact amongst retail academics and promote research and educational developments the EAERCD organises an annual conference on a two year cycle.
Continuing the established research conference series previously initiated and organised by CESCOM at Bocconi University in Milan. Full conference papers are peer reviewed, and the best conference papers are published in a special issue of the International Review of Retail Distribution and Consumer Research.
The most recent Conference was held in July 2009 and hosted by the Retail Group, University of Surrey.
The next conference in this series will be hosted by the Departimento di Economia Area Marketing at the University of Parma, Italy from 29th June to 1st July 2011. Details can be obtained here.
This series commenced with the formation of EAERCD. Initially focusing on educational issues in commercial distribution, in recent years this sequence has evolved to focus on specific themes for example case studies, retail innovation and retail branding
